• Poison ivy, oak and sumac rash is caused by the skin's reaction to the plant's oil, urushiol (oo-roo-she-all). For effective treatment, you must first remove the urushiol oil to keep it from spreading, allowing the skin to begin its healing process.

  Tecnu Extreme is a specialized soap that can be used as an allover body wash. Mixed with a small amount of water, it gently exfoliates the skin to for effective removal of poison ivy oil. After washing with Tecnu Extreme, you can follow up with an anti-itch treatment if needed. We recommend Tecnu Rash Relief Spray or Calagel Medicated Anti-itch Gel.

  Do you frequently encounter poison ivy or oak plants? If you know you have been exposed, Tecnu Extreme can be used to remove the poison ivy oil within 8 hours after exposure to the plants, before a rash appears.
